Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is in an intriguing position on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He possesses the ability to promote and help maintain peace between Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
This scenario wasn’t possible just a few weeks ago, as Adam bolted for Las Vegas, Nevada, and Thompson’s character was still be derided as ‘Billy boy’. However, Victor confronted Billy about his attempted murder of Adam, which Grossman’s character previously blamed his father for.
As Y&R fans have seen, Adam returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, intent on being a better man for his son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). The recent conversation Billy had with Adam in the lobby of The Grand Phoenix, during an unexpected encounter with Delia Abbott’s (Lauren Lindsey Donzis) accidental killer, verbally established a mutually agreed upon truce.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Offers Plausible Deal
The deal Adam offered makes sense. Billy holds him responsible for Delia’s death, while Adam holds Billy at fault for trying to run him down in a delayed revenge response.
Adam surprised Billy when confronting him about what took place on Route 7. That type of information could have easily put Billy into quick and serious legal jeopardy.
However, Billy doesn’t see the truce agreement as fully just because Adam wasn’t killed and still has his sons. Billy only has two of his three children because of Adam’s actions on that fateful night in October 2013.
Y&R Spoilers – Billy Abbott’s Splintered Personality Repressed
Subjective proof that Billy’s splintered personality isn’t gone was seen by viewers when he spotted Adam at GC’s newest hotel setting. Thompson’s increasingly textured character bristled at the sight of the man who’d set him off after returning from the dead (again).
But Billy told Victor that he’s trying to be the best version of himself for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and for his children. Victor believed him because he could empathize.
Victor’s recent experience with Adam produced the death hoax, but also the seeming opportunity for a rebuilt relationship. While there will likely be some reversions to form, both men seem interested in getting along.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – New Direction Potentially Being Taken
The fabled night in January 2014, when Billy (as then played by Billy Miller) and Adam (as then played by Michael Muhney) reverberates to this day both on- and off-screen.
Billy learned that Adam was responsible for Delia’s death and planned to take him out. Adam’s swerve off the road resulted in both characters being recast (to Justin Hartley and in Billy’s instance, briefly to David Tom and then to Burgess Jenkins). Of course the actors who embody both roles have changed since, to Grossman and Thompson.
Braeden has always played Victor. Now, in late 2019, it feels as though a new direction for his iconic character, as well as for Adam and Billy is realistically possible. Victor’s place as Adam’s forgiving father and Billy’s advising father-figure may not have worked in the past, but can develop now if pursued in a believable fashion by the writing staff at Y&R.

I want this fued over Delia’s death to be put to rest once and for all! I’m tried of Billy calling Delia’s tragic accident murder! Vilifying Adam as a cold blooded murder who willfuly ran down Delia in the street keeps Billy from avoiding the truth his part in Delia’s death and fuels this bloodlust for vengeance!
It sickens me what Billy, and Chloe have done all in the name of this poor child!
I hope Victor can finally make them give up this vengeful vendetta over what truley was a tragic accident!
