The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Fiance Pushes Brilliant Maneuver

Victoria and Ashland were not married when they reached an agreement on the merger deal. Newman Enterprises was to merge with the Locke Communications Group. At that point in the plot, the great Victor Newman favored combining the companies.

Victor, like Victoria, believed that Ashland’s terminal cancer diagnosis gave him a matter of months to live. As viewers recall, Victor also endorsed Ashland’s love for his daughter and believed he had her best interests in mind.

While Victor claims to have never trusted Ashland, that is not exactly true. Braeden’s character is rewriting history to preserve his self-proclaimed keen business sense.

Y&R Spoilers – Ashland Locke Plays Game Masterfully

Ashland deceived Victoria, convincing her that he was dying. That resulted in her feeling sorry for him.

She did fall in love with Ashland. Victoria came to believe that she was the one person who was best suited to protect his business legacy. That is the angle Ashland was going for all along.

Unless Ashland can prove that he had cancer, and even if he lied about when a remission took place, then the entire story he pitched will be confirmed as nothing more than a purposeful lie to gain power.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – No Checkmate Yet In Genoa City

There is an intriguing caveat to the real-life chess game Ashland is currently winning. He has Victor and Victoria in the check position.

Chess fans know that the term check means that the most valuable piece on the board, the king, is in danger of being captured on the very next move unless a block or escape counter move is made. Losing the king means that the game is over.

Victoria is the queen of Newman-Locke, as its now co-Chief Executive Officer. Ashland believes he became the king when signing a contract that secured the title.

However, Ashland has not checkmated Victor, with the chess term meaning the true king is captured and the opponent wins.

All soap fans know Victor ranks with the greatest forces in daytime history. He has never suffered total defeat but finds himself in a vulnerable position during what seems to be the latter stages of the impressive game Ashland is playing.

Yes Victor is good at being the master in everything and will protect his baby girl Victoria till she can stand up for herself and she is the last person to know that her husband lied about his cancer now he is trying his hardest to try escape but he won't get that far, he has to pay the price for lying and blackmailing to get his way.

Time to wrap this story up. It has been on thin ice in places throughout with episodes that don't make sense. Making Ashland CEO like Victoria owns the company and doesn't therefore require board approval is just ridiculously insulting. Story needs to end yesterday, with Victor taking over and Victoria learning a lesson egotistical, greedy behavior comes at a price.
