Merging Newman and LCG into one entity was a brilliant and now realized idea. Victoria and her company’s attorneys, along with Ashland’s legal team, appear to be in the final stretches of the announced deal.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) suggested that this type of agreement can fall apart. But if that doesn’t happen, then both companies will become one.

Yes, Ashland naturally reminds people of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). He is representative of an east coast business leader.

However, all that has been learned about Tara’s duplicity has significantly impacted the view of Ashland. He is a tough businessman and has a harsh outer exterior. Such is the perception of outsiders.

But there is no doubt that he is completely devoted to Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), the boy who has been revealed and seemingly confirmed as not being his biological son. That specific plot point helped to humanize Ashland.

Victoria has been dubbed the Ice Princess in days gone by. Like Ashland, her exterior is rough. As is true of her new love, she too has been wronged by a seeming soul mate.

Billy Abbot (Jason Thompson) is no longer the main man in Victoria’s life. He’s adjusted to that and now wishes Vashland well, with honesty applied.

Y&R may be writing a post-Villy arc for Victoria that lasts through the fall or winter. Then again, Vashland could become one of this soap’s next big couples if all goes well with Ashland’s treatments.
