Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) found Ashland’s assertion, that a top Newman-Locke executive should be replaced by one of his New York buddies, to be rather troubling. But Ashland acted as though it was no big deal when clearly, Victoria’s Chief Operating Officer disagreed.
And this is what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is concerned about. He does not trust Ashland. However, the Moustache told Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) that he knows Ashland loves Victoria in a classic Newman juxtaposition.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – He Loves Her, He Loves Her Not
Ashland does seem enchanted with Victoria. Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) was impressive in her own right. She appeared to be the mother of Ashland’s child, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), but was not.
So, Tara was loved until she admitted to lying about Harrison’s paternity. Ashland turned on her at that point in the plot. Their marriage was over, but his concern for Harrison persisted.

The dynamic is not the same with Ashland’s new marriage. And Victoria has not been dishonest with him. So, some unexpected scenario would need to develop for him to betray her trust.
Y&R Spoilers – Honeymoon Period Refers To Business
Nikki sensed that the period of bliss between Victoria and Ashland persists. But that is separate from the feelings Ashland has about their merged business.
Ashland is used to getting what he wants and being in charge. While Victoria represents a unique entity in his life, his business habits have not died.
News that Ashland’s cancer has been contained and does not currently represent a threat, as it had for many months, could be causing him to tap into the persona he famously brandished as head of the Locke Communications Group. That was the honeymoon’s end reference Nikki made to her son-in-law.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victoria Newman Locke Sees All
Victoria is in love, as she had been with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in the past. Hardcore fans know that Victoria has often held love in her heart for Billy while also recognizing his flaws.
Ashland represents an exciting and unexpected period in Victoria’s life. His seemingly upbeat diagnosis implies that this couple could share an unlimited future. But if Ashland believes that he can slowly gain control, the fabled Ice Princess will likely return and stop him in his tracks on Y&R.
