Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Heinle implied that Victoria’s reaction might not have been completely genuine. In fact, it sounds like Victoria might be worried about Ashland having Nick killed.

“I think because Victoria already had some concerns about Ashland, that the new information Nick provides just throws fuel on his fire, which could burn Nick instead of Ashland.”

Y&R Spoilers – Protecting Family

Victoria might not be the only one who is trying to protect the family with deception. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) seems awfully pushy about siding with Ashland and lashing out at Billy. Victor even paid off Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) . Now, Victor is a savvy businessman. He isn’t just going to go all out to protect and defend someone unless he knows all the facts.

However, Victor would put on a good act and completely blindside a hidden enemy. There is a good chance that Victor might know more than fans realize, and Ashland could pay the price at his own wedding. So, we will have to keep watching the CBS soap to find out how this story ends.
