But now that he coldly canceled the design division that he wanted her to head, Sally is wondering what type of game is being played.
Victor told Sally that she is a businesswoman and understands that tough decisions have to be made. But she believed the Moustache might have dangled the plumb in front of her to take it away.
But Victor’s strategy change with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is the more likely scenario. The founder and true head of Newman Enterprises does not want his youngest son and problem child to be distracted.

Sally tried being with Adam. That was an initially exhilarating experience but then he drove her crazy.
Adam eventually decided that he needed to leave Newman Media. Doing so was meant to try and preserve her position.
But Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Victor did not trust Sally and soon gave her a pink slip, which went against the excellent performance she delivered.
Sally’s heart was broken when Adam also broke their relationship. He later admitted that his reason for doing so, claiming not to love her, was false. Instead, he believed his repellent personality was something she did not deserve.
Y&R Spoilers – Moving Up To Nick Newman
Adam believed Sally would be better off without him. But he did not assume she would begin to fall in love with his brother, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Nick did not trust Sally because of her reputation and romantic link to Adam. But Nick’s default position was changed as he got to know her.
Sally did not expect Nick to stay with her when she confirmed that Ava Hope’s father was Adam. But Nick’s genuine response and consistent support allowed Sally to believe he could be the true love of her life.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Needs Mental Health Treatment
One of the arguable holes in Adam’s arc centers on his loved ones not discussing his obvious need for mental health treatment.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is the closest thing he has to a therapist and even she does not push the point the audience recognizes as a glaring red light.
Adam’s inability to keep himself centered and reliance on exaggerated and even false beliefs about the past creates a fantasy world where he is the greatest victim.
Victor told Sally that he is not creating a design division because, in part, he needs to focus on helping his children to work well together. But Victor is hardly a therapist. So, the Moustache is likely to continue enduring Adam’s relentless issues on Y&R.
