Victor’s threat was real. Chelsea was going to lose access to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and also put Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) in danger of being arrested by Rey as well.

So, it appears as though Y&R’s leading man and eternal anti-hero are getting his way again.

Rey could have died after his unwanted brush with Thallium. He needs to hold someone accountable for that crime.

Will GC’s lead detective be okay with some arrangement where Chelsea is allowed to have extended mental health stay? That seems unlikely, but Victor has swayed those in authority in the past.

Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) seems set to be part of this brokered arrangement and might take pity on Chelsea for what she did. Her admission is actually the truth.

Letting Adam off the hook now seems certain as well. That’s not the closure that Rey wanted for this case.

Chelsea has to trust that Victor is going to abide by his word. He said that she was wrong about not having a way out of this situation.

Trusting Braeden’s character isn’t something that someone willingly chooses. But Chelsea believes she has no other options.

It’s fair to wonder if she’ll make a run for it, but doing so would block her ability to remain in touch with Connor. So, this unforeseen outcome is about to create unexpected consequences that could flow in various directions from this point in the plot.
