The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) reached his limit. The petulance of his children pushed him to make a move he did not intend until needed.

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) does not seem to realize it. But her unwillingness to work with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and having forced Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) out of his position unnerved Victor.

Viewers are the only ones who witnessed the Moustache work the heavy bag in his home gym. That was the signal that he was getting back in the ring.

Victor’s portrait was the mental comfort food symbol that hung in the Chief Executive Officer’s suite in Newman Towers for decades. He wielded power from his desk and kept an oil-based eye on his company while away on business or when having one of his many dalliances or affairs.

He saw his company fall into dysfunction but did not immediately push people out of their positions, as Victoria did not seem to initially recall. Victor assessed the situation and then took his time before making decisive decisions.

Victoria approached her father after taking time to cool down. She did not try to snow him, reinforcing that Adam was the origin of the company’s most recent upheaval.

Of course, Victoria’s assessment is myopic. As she led with, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi and Robert Newman), is the person Newman Enterprises’ troubles can be traced back to.

While Ashland proved to be disruptive and a villain, other factors exacerbated the situation. Most recently, Victoria’s relationship with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) influenced her decision to put him in Nick’s spot and her inability to accept Victor’s view of Adam also created irreconcilable business differences.

Victor heard Victoria out, with his response being mixed. He did not dismiss having to fire her depending on how she performed in the future and said something that was a warning sign.

He is convinced that Adam has never been given a fair start. Victor has endorsed the outsider storyline Adam has pushed for years.

The bottom line in business is making money so the corporation survives. However, the calculation is different regarding Newman family business, and Victoria can not get around that on Y&R.
