The Young And The Restless Spoilers Wednesday, December 23: Sharon’s Tamale Fail – Phyllis & Jack’s Gift Rescue – Amanda Decides To Meet Her Birth Mom

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, December 23, tease that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will find Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at Crimson Lights. Nikki will ask Victor if he’s given any more thought to possibly going to London for the holidays. Victor will apparently balk a little, and Nikki will fear the worst, but then Victor will say that they should go to London for Christmas. Nikki will be thrilled.

Meanwhile, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will talk at the Grand Phoenix ahead of going to the Abbott mansion for Christmas Eve. Phyllis will mention how she’s troubled over Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) having bought the hotel for her. Summer won’t think it’s such a big deal, and she’ll tell Phyllis that the special gift she was planning for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) for Christmas hit a snag.

Next on Y&R, at the Abbott mansion, Nick will talk with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about his frustrations over how Phyllis is acting over the loan for the hotel. Later, Nick will overhear Kyle talking up Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and he’ll tease Kyle a bit over complimenting another woman aside from Summer.

Kyle will also tell Jack about his plan to put the emerald from his tie clip into Summer’s infinity necklace, but he’ll say that Summer lost the infinity necklace. When Phyllis shows up, she and Jack will talk and they’ll figure out that Summer had wanted to put the diamonds from her infinity necklace into Kyle’s tie clip, while Kyle had wanted to put his emerald from the tie clip into Summer’s necklace. Phyllis and Jack will decide to fix the situation.

Phyllis Summers & Jack Abbott Save The Day

Next on Y&R, Nick, Kyle, and Summer will show up at Crimson Lights after ice skating. Phyllis and Jack will arrive shortly thereafter, and Jack will summon Kyle off to the patio, where he’ll give Kyle a package from the jeweler’s saying that what was lost has been found and that his Christmas wish has been granted. Inside the coffeehouse, Phyllis will give Summer a package from the jeweler’s saying exactly the same thing. Both Kyle and Summer will be overjoyed.

Later, Nick and Phyllis will talk, and Phyllis will tell Nick all about what she and Jack did to make Summer and Kyle’s Christmas presents work out. Nick and Phyllis will talk about Christmas plans as well, and Nick will want Phyllis to help him make Christmas perfect for Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). Phyllis will agree.

Amanda Sinclair Shares Big News About Her Birth Mother

Next on Y&R, at Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will tell Devon that her birth mother was the cousin of Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) adopted mother. Amanda will pull up a photo of her birth mother on her phone, saying that her birth mother became pregnant in college, and that she gave her twin girls up. Hilary was adopted, while Amanda went into the foster system.

Amanda will feel like she wants to go see her birth mother, but she’ll be worried that it might go far worse than she’s anticipating. Devon will say that Amanda should trust how she’s feeling and that at some point it will seem right for Amanda to go see her birth mother. Amanda will say that she feels overwhelmed right now and that she doesn’t want to decide anything.

Amanda Sinclair Decides To Meet Her Birth Mother

Once Amanda leaves, Devon will remember Hilary talking about her adopted mother and the time when he read Hilary’s letter to Santa on air during GC Buzz many years ago. Meanwhile, Amanda will go back to her hotel room at the Grand Phoenix, where she’ll find out that her birth mother lives in Wilmette, Illinois, about an hour away from Genoa City.

Amanda will call Devon to ask him to come with her as she treks to Wilmette to see her mother. Devon will agree. And down in the lobby of the Grand Phoenix, Summer and Kyle will meet up, with each one of them excited that their respective Christmas gifts worked out.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack will be alone when he gets a test message from Sally asking if his offer for her to stop by on Christmas still holds. Jack will reply that they’d be happy to have Sally over.

Sharon Newman Tries Out A New Recipe With Disastrous Results

Finally, on Wednesday’s new episode of Y&R, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will have a surprise waiting for Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) when he gets home. Sharon will want to start a new tradition of making Cuban tamales Christmas. Rey will be excited, but the tamales will be awful, and neither Rey nor Sharon will be able to eat them. Rey will be good-natured about the whole thing, saying that next time, they’ll do the cooking together and perfect the recipe.
