The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Who Actually Killed Delia? – Adam Never Proven Guilty

The Young And The Restless; Adam NewmanThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) died after being struck by a car in October 2013. Eight years have passed since Billy Abbott (as then played by Billy Miller) and Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) daughter was killed on impact.

Adam Newman (as then played by Michael Muhney) became convinced that he hit Delia. Evidence exists that circumstantially implies that is true. But this storyline has never been fully resolved, as all hardcore viewers know.

The bump Adam felt, while driving his now fabled sport utility vehicle, could have been Delia. But that does not mean that he hit her first. She could have already been hit by another driver before Adam accidentally struck her. That other driver may or may not have been aware of what happened.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Starting With The Simple Solution

The simple answer can be the correct one. So, Adam may be solely responsible for this tragedy, meaning the storyline was resolved years ago.

Billy left Delia and Dash in the car when stopping to pick up ice cream for a post-school play party. Adam was minutes behind Billy, traveling on the same road on the outskirts of Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Delia let her dog Dash out of the car and began to follow him across the roadway. Adam was fatefully traveling in that area. He saw Dash, turned to avoid hitting him, felt a thump, stopped his vehicle, and got out. He saw the dog and was relieved, believing that he only hit an inanimate object in the street.

But it is certainly possible that he hit Delia, who was on the side of the road, and died instantly. However, Adam never saw her at the scene. Viewers know that is true because he was alone and would not have reacted as he would have when hitting anyone, particularly a child.

Y&R Spoilers – Making The Scene Soapy

A compromise scenario and one that is also complex would have another driver hitting Delia, followed by Adam hitting her.

As fans recall, lights from another vehicle (that was not Billy’s, because he was shown inside the store buying ice cream) were visible. It appeared that the purpose of writing that other car into the scene was intended to introduce doubt.

Why have another car on the road? That person could have seen Adam strike Delia or was driving the car that struck her or struck her first.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mystery Villain Revealed?

It was natural to believe that the referenced other driver was going to come forward or somehow be tracked down. That person would have testified, leading to Adam’s imprisonment for the asserted hit-and-run incident, even though the character Muhney was then playing did not know he did anything wrong at the time.

Adam’s later realization and cover-up of the physical evidence (scraps of Delia’s costume) would have made it look like he was guilty all along. That and testimony from the mystery witness would have sunk Adam.

However, the driver of the other car could be the assailant rather than a witness or simply a passerby who saw nothing. A long list of past and current characters, along with a new one that can be created, would seem to be the most compelling and creative course to take.

Adam’s (as now played by Mark Grossman) life would be forever changed if he is proven innocent. Hopefully, Y&R revisits this case and applies closure to this still-open, monumental storyline that continues to affect the show through today.

I really, really think Y&R has to get the death of Delia off of Adam’s record. It is so difficult to feel sympathy for him when I am keep thinking that he actually killed her. At the time of the accident, there was a guy with a beard who presumably lived across the street from the scene of the accident. He reported to the police the information about the SUV that eventually led to Adam. I’ve always thought Y&R would reveal that this “informant” was in fact the real hit and run driver. Maybe there could be a death-bed confession, given to Chance in his role as a detective?

It’s time that the real driver is revealed.
