The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that viewers were completely shocked when Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise) made an explosive comeback during the Thursday, November 14 show.
Of course, many fans are familiar with Jordan, as she was just seen on screen some months ago; however, many don’t recall the history Ian brings to Genoa City.
The Young And The Retsless Spoilers – Ian Ward’s History On The Show
Y&R spoilers reveal that it’s been a hot minute since Ian has been on canvas. He entered the land of GC in 2014 and was a prominent figure on screen until about 2016.
Ian was the ‘New World’ cult leader, a group Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) were affiliated with in their younger years. She became pregnant with Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) during that time, and as Ian had raped her, they both believed at one point that he was Dylan’s father.
In fact, he returned to town to get closer to Dylan and hid a secret that he couldn’t have children – for a very long while – but the truth eventually came out. When Paul was shot, it was revealed that he had the same rare blood type as Dylan, which thus proved he was McAvoy’s biological father.
Y&R Spoilers – The Mariah Copeland Factor
Y&R spoilers remind fans that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) also entered storylines in 2014, and she was also linked to Ian as a former cult member of his. Ian encouraged her to try and bond with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) but didn’t exactly provide the reason why.
As viewers may recall, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) did some digging, because he was suspicious, and it turned out that Mariah was Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) unknown twin. It ended up that Ian had stolen Mariah at birth, and the craziness didn’t end there!
Ian would kidnap Mariah, drug her, and place her in a wedding dress to marry her. The two got hitched, but thankfully their nuptials didn’t stick.
Ian framed his death and the ‘murder’ was pinned on Dylan. Thankfully, Nikki and Paul were able to lure Ian back, and he was sent to prison instead of Dylan.
The Young And the Restless Spoilers – Ian Ward’s Link To Phyllis Summers
Still, Ian returned yet again, breaking out of jail to partner up with Gabriel Bingham, who was really Adam Newman (played by Justin Hartley at the time).
The goal was to bring down Newman Enterprises and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but he also landed in Phyllis Newman’s (Michelle Stafford) orbit, pretending to be “Fred” a local fisherman while she was at the Abbott cabin.
This was during the Paragon computer virus storyline, where somehow, Ian was able to escape prison but re-enter his cell without guards realizing anything.
With that being said, later that year he ended up escaping prison again and setting fire to the Newman Enterprises tower. Adam was devastated at what his “partner” had done.
While everyone thought Ian had passed away in the fire, Phyllis played a role in tracking Ian down and exposing him to the police before he could release the Paragon virus.
Then in 2016, when Victor landed in jail, of course, one of his inmates was Ian Ward. He tried to concoct a plan with Victor where the Moustache would help him get out of jail, but everything went awry.
Ian ended up taking Nikki to the Abbott cabin, where Phyllis was coincidentally at the time, and he held the two women as hostages.
Thankfully, they were eventually saved by Victor, as well as Paul and Dylan, and Ian was sent back to jail, but clearly, the prison cells were unable to hold him back for too long.
