The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Why A Matt Clark Whodunit Is Perfect Right Now – And Why It’ll Never Happen

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Why It’s the Perfect Time For A Matt Clark Whodunit & Why it Will Never Happen! The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is back in GC after raining down terror on the Newman family in Las Vegas.

Never mind how he got there—seemingly overnight with no money. The point is that the malicious man is back among his prey and looking as beady-eyed dangerous as ever.

Let’s break down what could happen next!

Matt Clark is Back

Matt looks rough—maybe he could get a hot meal and a clean bath at New Hope?

Before that happens, the show has to pick a lane—does Matt have amnesia or not? He claims he does, but Matt/Mitch/Ronnie is an inveterate liar.

Theoretically it’s possible that Matt lost his memory after Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) conked him on the head and left him for dead in the desert. But with or without amnesia, there will be a line forming of people who want the cad dead.

Does Matt Have Amnesia?

Having Matt have amnesia would be a quick way to erase his past. But even then, he has created such animosity that several characters wouldn’t be able to get past his history. And that would make a redemption storyline difficult to digest.

We doubt that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) would be content to allow Matt a get out of jail free pass.

Will There be a Whodunit?

If there is a whodunit, do you think there will be a body to show for it? No body leaves the gate wide open for a return and many fans want Howarth to remain with show.

They may detest his character, but a whole new audience is clamoring for the One Life to Live vet to score a contract.

Then again, the writers could opt to keep him as a “good twin” one of daytime’s most celebrated tropes.

Does Matt Have a Twin?

The main reason we see Matt sticking around for the immediate future is Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford). These two have a scene together and we don’t think that is happenstance.

Phyllis desperately needs an ally and Matt would be the perfect leverage in her fight against Victor.
