The Young and the Restless star Camryn Grimes had exciting news to share on Monday. She is engaged to be married to her longtime boyfriend, voice actor Brock Powell, and she couldn’t be happier.
Y&R Spoilers: A New Beginning For Camryn Grimes
Both Powell and Grimes took to Twitter on Monday to announce the engagement that took place on Friday, January 7. “‘You and me, we’re in a club now.’- Ellie from ‘Up’ Engaged 01.07.22,” Grimes tweeted, with Y&R’s official Twitter account retweeting the news and offering congratulations.
Congrats also poured in from co-stars, including Eileen Davidson, Mishael Morgan, Christian Le Blanc, and Greg Rikaart. Each of them offered their best wishes for the happy pair and are thrilled for their longtime co-star.
Powell’s tweet read, “After nearly 2 years of staying inside, we KNOW adventure is out there. Can’t wait to travel the globe with you Red, but you’re already my entire world. #engaged #up #onlyupfromhere.”
The pair also seemed to reveal their favorite movie with their love for Disney Pixar’s Up, a romantic movie about never-ending true love and growing old together.
A New Chapter for Camryn Grimes
Camryn Grimes has been beloved on The Young and the Restless since her childhood in the 1990s when she started playing Cassie Newman, the daughter Sharon Newman gave up for adoption when she was in high school and then found again and claimed as her own. Grimes won an Emmy for playing Cassie in 1999 and later lost her job as a teen when Cassie was killed in a car accident.
In 2014, Grimes returned to Y&R and Genoa City to play Cassie’s long-lost twin, Mariah Copeland, who started as a manipulative character and later became a beloved heroine. Mariah is now one of the most popular characters on the show and is involved in a same-sex relationship with Cait Fairbanks’ Tessa Porter.
Grimes gave it her all in 2021 in a surrogacy storyline in which Mariah carried Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) and then became attached to him after being kidnapped and held hostage while pregnant for weeks.
