Y&R Star Hartley Sawyer Joins CW Drama The Flash

The Young and the Restless star Hartley Sawyer is coming back to the small screen. Unfortunately, it won’t be as his former character Kyle Abbott, though. Instead, he’s set to play The Elongated Man on the hit CW series The Flash.

Reports indicate that the handsome young actor will be playing Dibny in a new recurring role. Dibny is described as “a fast-talking private investigator with investigative skills that rival those of Batman.” After discovering his new abilities, Dibny uses his superpower to help Team Flash solve one of Central City’s greatest mysteries.

According to Variety, the show’s executive producer Todd Heibing says that Season 4 of The Flash will have a much lighter tone after Season 3 took a relatively dark turn. He also said that he’s excited to have a non-Speedster season-long villain.

He told fans at his Comic-Con panel, “We’re also trying to lighten the tone this year. Last year was pretty dark, we’re going to try to get back to the jokes. With three Speedsters in a row, this year it’s the fastest man alive against the fastest mind alive.”

There’s no doubt that this is just the beginning of what will be a very successful television career for this young star! So far Hartley himself hasn’t made any comments about his new role. Either way fans can’t wait to see him again!
