The Young And The Restless – Jason Thompson Will Miss The Daytime Emmys
“After 2.5 years of dodging Covid…I finally tested positive! I’m very sorry to say I won’t be attending the @daytimeemmys tomorrow night and that’s a bummer!! To all my fellow nominees and friends, I wish you all the best, have a fantastic night celebrating what we do,” Thompson wrote on Instagram. “To the best fans in the world, like most of you I will be watching from home cheering on our favorites on @cbstv!! Thank you for an amazing year @youngandrestlesscbs and @sonypictures. I’ll be back to work in a week or so to try and earn another invite to the big night!!! Lots is love!”
Thompson also posted a video in which he said he is “bummed out” about missing the Emmys, but is feeling ok. “It feels like a minor cold,” he said. “You can pretty much tell I sound a little stuffed up, but I know that is not the case for everyone.”
The actor also expressed sadness for missing a friend’s wedding in Wyoming that he now won’t be able to attend.
Y&R Spoilers – Which CBS Soap Stars Are Next?
Thompson was one of a handful of CBS soap stars who recently traveled to the Monte Carlo TV festival to promote both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. His Y&R co-star, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby Newman Chancellor, Billy’s niece, also tested positive for COVID. She is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category and it’s her first nomination.
The other stars who traveled to Monte Carlo were from B&B and included Krista Allen (Taylor Hayes), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester), and Tanner Novlan (John ‘Finn’ Finnegan). So far, there is no word on whether the B&B stars also contracted COVID. We wish both Thompson and Ordway speedy recoveries and hope they stay mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic.
