The Young and the Restless star Jason Thompson is embarking on a new business venture. Like his character, Billy Abbott, Thompson is searching for a way to find a bigger purpose in life.

Thompson launched an organic beer called Rancho West, a clean lager made without any GMOs, pesticides, or chemicals. He’s very proud of the brew and hopes his Y&R fans will give it a try.

The beer is available in select stores. It’s an IPA created from ingredients in soil for four years or longer without any chemicals. It is certified organic, making it what Thompson calls a clean beer.
“It’s called Rancho West, and we have two fantastic offerings. We have a premium lager that’s really crisp and clean. Then we have a West Coast IPA beer that is a little citrusy and has a beautiful kind of aroma to it. They are certified organic, which means it’s been verified by a third party that there are no pesticides, no chemicals, and no GMs used in the brewing of the beer. All the ingredients are grown in soil that is at least four years free of chemicals,” Thompson explained to Soap Opera Digest’s recent issues, available for purchase on newsstands.

“Our mission from the beginning was to craft a delicious beet that is as clean as we can get it, from the soil to the way it tastes. All of that is what we tried to create over the last four years, and we’re out there trying to bring awareness that organic beer can be a thing people care about, as we care about organic baby food or fruits. So we are trying to push for a clean beer movement, in a way to bring more attention to the alcohol world and change the way beer is made in the big breweries without losing the fun and adventurous spirit of enjoying a cold beer,” Thompson added.
