The Young And The Restless To Air Tribute Episode For Kristoff St. John

The Young And The Restless: Kristoff St. John “The Young and the Restless” will air a special episode as a tribute to the late Kristoff St. John, who played the role of Neil Winters on the show. Fans may recall that St John passed away in February 2019 and his character was killed off in April of the same year. The episode will feature flashbacks of the actor’s nearly three-decade run on the soap.

In the episode set to air on Friday, May 28, Neil’s loved ones will come together to remember him through a walking tour in Genoa City. Fans will see several characters participate including Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

The death of St. John was ruled as an accident. He passed away at the age of 52 on February 03, 2019, due to “hypertrophic heart disease… and effects of ethanol,” according to the report of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. He was buried in March 2019 next to the grave of his son Julian St. John.

The Young And The Restless- Shemar Moore Speaks About Former Co-Star

Following St. John’s death, “The Young and the Restless” alum Shemar Moore reprised his role as Neil’s brother, Malcolm, in a tribute episode to the late actor. A few months after his passing, Moore referred to St. John as he presented the Daytime Emmy award for best drama series, which “The Young and the Restless” won.

“This year, we had to say goodbye to a good man, a great man, a special individual, Mr. Kristoff St. John,” Moore said.

“In my opinion, he is the most iconic, popular, thorough, professional, talented, big-hearted, generous African-American actor in soap opera history. … Kristoff, we miss you, rest in peace, keep dancing, and we will never, ever forget you, my brother,” he continued.

Later that year, St. John’s ex-wife Mia St. John opened up about how she’s coping with the death of her ex-husband and the loss of their son to suicide. She revealed that her experience has sparked a passion within her to spread awareness about mental health.

“I’ve been in this fight for reform of our mental health system for so long,” she said.

“Kristoff and I lost our son in a mental health facility that was found guilty of neglect. Then when I uncovered a lot of the facilities in L.A. County, I discovered that this was going on everywhere because there have been many deaths. My son wasn’t the only one. So I’ve been on that vision,” she added.
