The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Will Billy and Vickie Survive Latest Crisis?

‘Villy’ is finally back together on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That happened because Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) previously righted his life and has been a rock for his greatest love during her trying times. In the past Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) generally needed to be there for Billy.

While she doesn’t know it yet, Billy did not fall off the gambling wagon. Instead, his personality has seemingly split, as an obsession with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) overwhelmed him.

Most recently, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) miraculously saved Adam by pushing him out of the way of an oncoming car. Billy was driving that vehicle, intent on doing to him what had been done to Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) six years ago next month.

Different than past instances, Billy was open with Vickie about what he was experiencing. He recently told her about what’s been happening in his mind due to Adam’s incredible second return from the dead.

Billy also sought professional help in seeing a therapist. He also told Vickie about the episodes where he was sleep driving and then waking up in unexpected places. But she never heard one word about gambling. That’s because he wasn’t and hasn’t been overtaken by that vice again.

Y&R News- Chloe Mitchell Do Right And Wrong

It’s great that Chloe played hero and that Adam wasn’t aware of her efforts, or that Billy tried to run him down. Some creative plotting had Adam fall and hit his head after being pushed by Chloe. He was only out for a brief period and, since he didn’t see Delia’s mother, doesn’t know who the players were on Route 7 the other night.

‘Khloe’ made many goofy choices through the years. Taking Billy to the Chancellor boat house is another one of those needless mistakes. They should have driven Billy directly to the hospital, or called an ambulance, while also immediately contacting Vickie.

It was Kevin Fisher’s (Greg Rikaart) text message to Vickie, sent from Billy’s phone, that introduced the gambling redux ruse. ‘Khloe’ did that to give themselves time they don’t need. They’re not care-givers and shouldn’t be handling this very serious matter.

Young & The Restless News – Then And Again, But Forever?

The love Vickie has for Billy has never been in question. The same is true of the place Vickie maintains in his heart. But how much can Vickie withstand if Billy is off the rails again?

A better question might be whether Billy will choose to remain with Vickie if his personality disintegration continues. Will he even desire to keep their relationship intact, or be able to pull himself back from the abyss he’s jumped into?
