Jack’s (Peter Bergman) romantic life has been a mess for the last three years on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His personal and business worlds were shattered in the spring when Dina (Marla Adams) claimed that he wasn’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) son. But all can be rebalanced in Genoa City this fall.
One of Bergman’s more memorable and relatively recent turns didn’t involve scenes with his longtime alter ego’s nemesis, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). No, the secondary character Bergman played, Marco Anacelli, in 2015 proved indelible.

After that six-month storyline played out, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) came to believe that Jack didn’t rightly defend her honor. As devoted fans recall, he refused to battle Victor after all was revealed. The philosophical stance Jack assumed didn’t match with his character and was opposed by daytime devotees at the time.
Viewers took notice that Y&R wrote Jack and Phyllis together in recent months. Their interplay at Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) wake coincided with Phyllis’ increasing closeness to Jack. Turning tables three years back, Phyllis sought Jack’s council about Billy (Jason Thompson), just as she had done in 2015, when Burgess Jenkins was playing Billy as Philly formed.
Jack was honest with Phyllis regarding his feelings this summer and early fall. He’s also offered genuinely supportive council to Phyllis and even to Billy about the duo that ended Phack a few years ago.
Billy remains central to Jack’s comeback, as the younger Abbott needed to vacate Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer’s seat due to gambling and embezzlement issues. Traci (Beth Maitland) was elevated to the top spot for a few days until the blood-Abbott clause was removed.
Ashley’s subsequent reign will be short due to the paternity test rake in Jack’s eyes. Fallout will see him restored as an Abbott, with all underhanded dealings explained.
Reclaiming the throne at Jabot, Jack will then have the confidence he needs to pursue the woman he’s long loved. Phyllis rediscovers her feelings as well and Phick eventually remarries, or so the converging storylines suggest.
