The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) plan to have Doctor Hedges (Michael Bofshever) authorize her release would be supercharged by an unexpected ally. While Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is expected to help her longtime friend, Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) suspicions about the doctor’s intent can prove helpful.

As Y&R fans know, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) exploited Chelsea’s mental health collapse. He forced her to confess to poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) in front of the detective and Genoa City, Wisconsin’s District Attorney Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc).

While Chelsea avoided jail time, her known compromise was a forced stay in a facility where Bofshever’s character takes his paid cues from the Moustache.

Chloe feels badly. She knows that Chelsea isn’t well and wants to help her friend heal.

So, the plan that will be hatched is to record Dr. Hedges. Obtaining evidence of his compromised position will be used as heavy leverage to enable Chelsea’s release.

The doctor will be faced with two bad choices. Don’t comply with Chelsea’s demand and risk being reported to the medical board or bow to her wishes and face Victor’s wrath. The better bet would be to side with Braeden’s character, gambling that Chelsea’s response would fail or be blunted.

Y&R Spoilers – Adam Newman Supports Connor Newman

It was good to see Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) back in town. Y&R fans know that the young actor hadn’t been on the set in a long time, due to virus related safety measures.

Adam’s good intentions were confirmed when he went directly to Chelsea, telling her that their son was home. However, Egan’s alter ego didn’t like hearing that she couldn’t see Connor. Chelsea feels that she is better, which isn’t fully true.

Grossman’s character feels rightly responsible for Chelsea’s current predicament. So, if the details about Victor’s involvement with Dr. Hedges are fully revealed, then Adam would likely advocate for Chelsea.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Is Determined

Chelsea won’t stand for indefinite confinement. So, the plan she’ll work on with Chloe has legs.

It stands to reason that Victor’s actions will be challenged, assuming that Adam becomes aware of Dr. Hedges’ duplicity. At that potential point in the plot the good feelings that now exist between Adam and Victor would be tested.

Victor sees Chelsea as a threat to Adam’s stability. So, her release from the facility isn’t something the Moustache currently supports. Adam still cares for Connor’s mother and could reach a strife point with Victor or potentially sway his father’s outlook toward a reasonable compromise.
