The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Coverup Crew Goes Too Far

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Coverup Crew Goes Too Far Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) hold stone cold attitudes on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Just like Newman’s. With whatever they believe, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) is undeserving of what’s happened, unless, of course, she’s further revealed.

Tessa admitted to being the blackmailer. Okay, anyone, be it a Newman, or whatever member of any family, would rightfully be angry at Miss Porter’s actions. But responding as they did to a knee-jerk theory that Tessa moved J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) body and burned down the stables was just too much.

Sharon (Sharon Case) has held the Newman name at various points her Genoa City life. Even when applied, she arguably never sported the type of entitled mentality Nikki and Vickie do. This character’s significant turnaround began when Dylan (Steve Burton, who returned to playing his famous stone cold character, Jason, on ‘General Hospital’) left. The end of ‘Shylan’ allowed the real Sharon to return and with that compassion for others abounded.

The heartfelt response Sharon offered to Tessa aided this poor soul, who has acknowledged that she’s not a saint. Viewers saw that Nikki and Vickie’s decision to strand Tessa in the woods after their interrogation was followed by Sharon making sure Fairbanks well-played alter ego had a cell phone, which allowed her to contact Mariah (Camryn Grimes).

Grimes’ character now becomes the one person who should be able to help Tessa restore her life and possibly, redeem herself. Again, as long as Tessa isn’t the ultimate villain.

The coverup crew, or actually duo (meaning Nikki and Vickie) within this part of the plot, crossed the law line and went well beyond anyone’s definition of a normal response.

Nikki accidentally killed J.T. on impulse. She was fully responsible for reporting that act to Paul (Doug Davidson) and chose not to. Vickie went along with her mother, lied to the police about what happened to J.T., and now feels compelled to further duplicity using any means necessary. Yes, that’s just like the Newman’s.
