The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. Cleared For Landing – Fans Ready For Y&R’s Comeback

The loudly teased end of a major storyline has finally happened on ‘The Young and the Restless’ are encouraging. Y&R fans, representing the largest contingent of the four remaining broadcast steamers in the United States and Canada, are patiently and not so patiently, depending upon one’s take, awaiting the coming conclusion to the still-open J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) case.

Being glad to see the coverup crew in a courtroom does not necessarily mean that a viewer is happy that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Sharon (Sharon Case) are facing justice, or that they are glad Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) forced Christine (Lauralee Bell) to offer an immunity deal. No, the building joy of these loyal fans involves recognition that the J.T. storyline appears to finally be cleared for landing.

Whether Luckinbill’s character is revealed to have been alive since apparently being accidentally killed by Nikki on April 13, 2018, or not, isn’t the only issue. Instead, the end of this 10-plus month arc has been twice telegraphed recently. Luckinbill’s presence on the set was purposely announced by Y&R and Doug Davidson (Paul), who, along with Christine, pressured J.T. to work for them in an attempt to bring down Victor (Eric Braeden).

The link between both above named actors, who haven’t been on-set in many months, is very important. Seasoned soap fans, along with those who are simply familiar with this particular storyline get the hint. The J.T. tale is about to wrap.

Davidson’s late-March return will likely be coupled with the final, full reveal of everything connected to the J.T. case. Based on the build, it seems more plausible than not that the completion of Mal Young’s scripts, the lead of supervising producer Lisa de Cazotte, along with the new guiding hands of executive producer Tony Morina and co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith will deliver a satisfying result for discerning soap fans.

Of course, whatever the result, there will be chatter. But the passion seen within the words of passionate fans will be justified, as the emotion linked to this genre has and will always matter.
