Each member of this squared circle has received a cryptic, anonymously typed note. The brief message to all implies the J.T. mess. Yes, mess, because that’s what developed after Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) decided to go rogue. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) quickly agreed to the unlawful plan and foolish burial because she decided not to trust Paul (Doug Davidson).
Let’s stop at this point and address Davidson. He recently announced that his drop to recurring status took place in January. The second longest tenured Y&R cast member, standing only behind Kate Linder (Esther), has hopefully not been seen in his last scenes as Genoa City’s police chief. The apparent climax that is developing for the J.T. storyline must include Paul, longtime fans hope.
Now, regarding Vickie (Amelia Heinle), who was J.T.’s actual victim. She rightfully feared the person who she was in love with because he’d gone off the mental health rails.

Y&R could have written Luckinbill’s character toward professional health care attention and then redemption, thereby presenting the audience with a useful alternative to issues that are seen in the real world. Instead, the script writers devolved J.T. into a one-dimensional B-movie monster and then killed him off. That lost opportunity also pushed Sharon (Sharon Case) into Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) cross-hairs.
The close proximity Rey has established with Sharon, at the department and at Crimson Lights, via his invented apartment, establishes her as the source that will spill, or the lure who will facilitate any of the other three coverup crew members into unknowingly revealing what happened.
A fall storyline stunner appears dead ahead. Yes, J.T.’s arc is being revisited one last time in order to finally bury a complex tale that could have been told in a more believable and responsible way.

WHY, WHY was Paul written out of the show? For those of us who have watched Young and
Restless since it’s inception, (am 84) find this show will no longer be worth watching. We don’t
like drastic changes to shows that had been winning first in Daytime Emmies for years, WHY
change a good show with good characters? Suggest new writers go back and really watch
reruns of just how great this show was!!
