The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack Doesn’t Need Victor For DNA Test – Matt Miller Available

Jack (Peter Bergman) is fully consumed with his paternity pursuit on ‘The Young and the Restless’.

Defying what even he would have thought impossible just days ago, Jack wants to know if Victor (Eric Braeden) is his brother. While a DNA match isn’t desired, at least that outcome would solve what has become a genetic mystery.

Hardcore fans recall that Matt was twice played by Robert Parucha. He embodied that side character in the mid-1980’s and then reprised the role very briefly in 2003. Matt was one of Albert Miller’s (played by the late George Kennedy) then known two sons, with the other being Christian. The other Miller offspring later changed his name to Victor Newman.

Y&R has recast Matt in the form of veteran actor Richard Gleason. The write-back of this character was needed due to a now-rapidly unfolding storyline that initially had Dina reveal last spring that John (Jerry Douglas) wasn’t Jack’s biological father. Instead, an adored country club gentleman, whose name she’s been unable to recall, was said to have been Jack’s dad.

Victor does not want to believe that he’s blood-tied to Jack. Along with that emotional feeling comes the Moustache’s refusal to provide a sample that could be tested against the possibly former Mr. Abbott’s genetics.

Matt soapily spotted the photograph Abby (Melissa Ordway) posted on her social media account that has more than one hundred thousand followers. Viewers must then assume that Matt was following her because of his past romantic involvement with Ashley (Eileen Davidson), unless he, not Victor, is Abby’s real dad?

The above question must surely be a red herring, as viewers have already been asked to digest a potentially reimagined history whereby all of Jack and Victor’s personal vendettas would have to be fully reconsidered based upon what could be learned.

So, Matt has become available to offer his sample which Jack can then test. That process better be carefully guarded so it isn’t manipulated by the ‘Moustache’, who has previously manipulated past scientific efforts and is deeply motivated to have a desired result rule Jack out of Albert’s blood pool.
