The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kerry Replaces Ashley At Jabot – New Character Sparks Interest

Alice Hunter debuts as Kerry Johnson this week on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She will be hired as Jabot’s lead chemist, replacing Ashley (Eileen Davidson) who is moving to Paris, France, following the major Abbott family reveal that just dropped.

Hunter’s professional acting career began in 2006, when she appeared in the movie ‘Acquamarine’. This native of England went onto appear in various other films and television shows, including: For the People’, ‘Another Period’, ‘Code Black’, ‘House of Lies’, ‘NCIS’, and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’.

Hardcore Y&R fans recall that Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) was the Abbott family’s housekeeper. Redd last appeared as this character in 2004. Mamie was said to have left to tour the world at that time and hasn’t been seen since.

While their last names are the same, Kerry does not appear to be related to Mamie. That means she wouldn’t be biologically connected to the Winters‘, or Hastings’ families, as Mamie was Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) and Olivia’s (Tonya Lee Williams), aunt. Nate’s (Brooks Darnell) mother is Olivia.

In addition to her professional developments, Kerry is sure to make personal progress in the coming months. The implication in having this new character not be Mamie’s relative pointedly means that she’s not genetically connected to Nate.

Doctor Hastings has made some light romantic overtures during his brief tenure that began earlier this year. But none have worked into even a date. So, it’s fair to think that Darnell’s character could be paired with Kerry.

A real life liner note about Darnell is also appropriate, considering that Major League Baseball’s World Series takes place this month. The actor was named Brooks in honor of Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson.

Among eligible bachelor’s, Billy (Jason Thompson) is single (again). And, Devon (Bryton James) believes that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) wants him to move on now that she’s in Heaven. Okay, that’s a generous assumption about her otherworldly location, but the heartwarming point remains apt. Plus, there are other candidates who will take notice to Kerry.
