Sparked by a new flame, Kyle (Michael Mealor) believes he’s about to take control of Jabot on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Lola (Sasha Calle) gives him a romantic option, pushing past Summer (Hunter King) for the foreseeable future. Watching his uncle Bill’s (Jason Thompson) free-fall also plays into Kyle’s immediate plans.
She’s been living a good life with her brother Arturo (Jason Canela) and recently served Kyle a sandwich that he loved. Yes, Lola’s successful food truck served as the setting for Y&R’s next likeable couple, ‘Kola’.
A catchy nickname often indicates synergy between two characters and the potential for growth. Hardcore fans know that ‘Syle’ didn’t become a hashtag sensation, meaning that there was little, if any oomph behind the repairing of King’s returned alter ego and the recast version of Kyle.

Actually, Kyle wasn’t interested in playing Summer’s games based on claimed bad experiences that were said to have taken place within the past two years. That would have been the time period when both characters were off-screen.
Summer was playing ‘Silly’ games as the past three months unfolded. Kyle kept telling her that she was not going to get Billy, which has proven right to-date. Then, one bright sunny day there was Calle’s newly introduced character who expanded the Rosales’ family to three, with Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) being the other.
Lola’s push at Crimson Lights digitally skipped weeks, or months of preening, as ‘Kola’ agreed to their first date. Summer is sure to think that Kyle is spiting her by creating a relationship with a new lady, but that wouldn’t be true. Instead, Summer’s take will further reaffirm Y&R’s rewrite of this character as an insecure person who doesn’t appear capable of maintaining personal, or romantic relationships.
As for Jabot, there’s not much to project. While Kyle did orchestrate the Las Vegas gamble with Sinead (Linda Kellerman) and the recently accepted syndicate invite, Billy continues to use his free will to gamble his position at Jabot and possibly, ‘Philly’ away. That choice will force him out of Jabot, which Kyle believes will then lead to his own elevation.
