The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that our inside source at CBS just heard the most amazing backstage dish, could it be that Adam Newman once again disappears from Genoa City, Wisconsin, leaving his family in the lurch? It looks like a good possibility given that our insider heard that Mark Grossman, the 79th iteration of Adam Newman, is not planning to renew his contract.

According to our source, Grossman is out of Y&R and TPTB don’t have plans to replace the actor. The change would happen this summer. There are all sorts of fallout possibilities associated with this possible scenario. For one thing, how would Adam leave? The burning up in a fire at the cabin is out.

Would there be another equally appalling disaster befall the bad boy? Or could it be as simple as Adam deciding to leave town of his own accord, alive for once?
It’s much more dramatic to have Adam suffer a great tragedy as befits his black knight character. But he’s already been toasted and presumed dead as a way out of GC. The writer’s probably have to come up with something different.

One plausible reason for him leaving (although does something have to be plausible on a soap?) is that he’s having beef with his family (again). His daddy trusts golden girl Victoria (his namesake after all) Newman (Amelia Heinle) with the keys to the kingdom despite her appalling lack of business judgement. If Adam had brought Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) into the fold only to have him eat the family alive, would Victor have hesitated to chop his head off?

And yet Victoria has brought the company to its knees with her idiotic love life problems and still sits in the big girl chair. This doesn’t sit well with Adam who knows he is so much better as a shark who wouldn’t hesitate to do what Victoria can’t.
So, if Adam walks, it may be to start his own company somewhere else and prove himself once and for all.

I don't blame the actor if he doesn't want to renew this contract! Lets face it this story with the supposedly family loving Victor selling his and Adams business venture to can't run a marriage or a company Victoria is just ridiculous. Anyone can see under this current writing the character of Adam is just always going to be playing second fiddle to stupid Victoria. I hope if he does leave it's for bigger and better things. If they kill him off he needs to stay dead this time. Hopefully silly Sally will now leave town.

I would be very sad to see Mark leave. He plays the role perfectly. Victor and Adam make the show. Without Mark I don't feel like watching. Every time the characters leaves I stop watching because the show is boring.
They are pairing him with Sally Spectra. Zero chemistry with Sally and stupid writing for his character!! They are running off the good actors for what reason? Victor should be grooming Adam to take over Newman Enterprise!! Instead, Victor is turning soft and allowing Victoria to ruin his company with her wrong decisions!! Poor writing, period!! I’m about ready to quit watching .. too many changes in a short time!!

I think it’s really sad that you have to write such speculation when there’s been no talk of that at all. Josh Griffith likes Sally Spectra and Adam together, I highly doubt this is even remotely close to happening. Start sticking to real spoilers and no more speculation because this opinion is just getting everyone all worried.

If he leaves, I’m truly done with the show. Right now I only watch depending upon the spoilers. If Adam and Ashland join forces, I will DEFINITELY continue watching. I also hate what they’re doing to Phyllis. Can’t stand Diane, and Lily is becoming another Victoria. Like I said, I’m not enjoying Y&R at this time. If Adam leaves, totally done with the show.
I agree with you. i have watched Y&R from the start and seen many come and go but would like to add Mark is the best Adam yet and would like to see him stay.

Leave this young man on this boring ,uneventful show because he is the only reason I continue to watch the soap. This actor is has so much potential! Good looking as well and sharp as a tack with this crazy role he wakes up daily to do. Give him more of a larger storyline. The show needs to evolve around him not the burnt out bunch he comes from! Please keep this show of interest and keep Mark and give him the respect he deserves!
Today Victor is talking about protecting his family “from one of our own”. Victor will send someone to steal the stolen laptop from Adam. Adam will be killed in a confrontation with the thief making Victor responsible for Adams death. Nick will suspect Victor was involved in Adams death and seek justice for Adam who had already decided not to use the evidence against the family. Nick will end up hating Victor and become estranged from Victoria for supporting Victor yet again.
