The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lola’s Extreme Progress Creates Trouble

Lola (Sasha Calle) is realizing extreme progress on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Months after moving to Genoa City, which is filled with various demanding palates, she’s set to take a major step in her career. And that’s where Miss Rosales’ stress starts.

The likelihood that a food truck vendor would be hired as a top chef at a swanky new restaurant in the real world? The odds wouldn’t normally be good. But unrealistic dreams are often realized by Lola and many other fictional personalities Y&R viewers see every daytime day.

So Kyle (Michael Mealor) was ditched by Summer (Hunter King), who is the anti-Lola, or she’s the anti-Summer. He did so, in part, because of buying a delicious sandwich at the roadside stand where Lola was pitching food in the middle of GC, which was conveniently near Jabot’s corporate building. That would be where Mr. Entitled wants to be the Chief Executive Officer of his family’s company, though he lacks enough seasoning.

Kyle still is mostly ego and little experience. Brash minds do place emotion over reason quite often in soaps. However, Lola isn’t like that.

The problem Lola is facing isn’t false confidence, as her culinary skills are solid. Instead, she recognizes the pressured business world that awaits her is one where she’s never tread.

It’s cool that Kyle, Lola’s brother, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), and sister-in-law, Mia (Noemi Gonzalez), offered honest critiques about her initial test dish. That feedback convinced Chef Rosales to stick with what’s allowed her to earn success.

As viewers have seen, Abby (Melissa Ordway), Kyle’s cousin, and Devon (Bryton James), Abby’s friend, are experienced when it comes to business. Mr. Hamilton didn’t believe Lola possessed the chops to be given a chance, until Abby’s slight of hand created a shot at the forthcoming restaurant that will soon be opening.

It’s not that Lola isn’t set to wow GC’s upscale eaters. No, her challenge will be in meeting Abby and Devon’s expectations at the spot they believe will be hot. Those are the palates that Lola will likely find hard to please. Whether she succeeds is another reason why Y&R’s devoted fans will keep watching, as they are daytime’s best customers.
