Ana was originally played by child actor Jamia Simone Nash from 2008 through 2012. The addition of Lott SORAS’s this character into her mid-twenties and plays off the actor’s American Idol history. Ana was a terrific singer who was sent to music school in what will soon be termed many years ago in soapy time.
Devon and Ana are biologically linked by Yolanda Harmony Hamilton (who was last played by soap icon Debbi Morgan in 2012). Devon’s father is Tucker McCall (who was last played by another soap icon, Stephen Nichols) in 2013. Tucker’s mother was the ‘Grande Dame’, Katherine Chancellor (played by the late, great Jeanne Cooper).
Katherine’s fondness for her grandson’s sister enabled Ana to be sent to the aforementioned school. It’s easy to project that this character’s return to Genoa City will also be coupled with a storyline involving Devon’s LP Streaming label, under the Hamilton-Winters’ umbrella.
With Ana being SORAS’d to young adulthood, the romantic potential will then exist with a variety of available character’s. Nate (Brooks Darnell) will be in closest proximity and sorely needs companionship. Kerry (Alice Hunter) might be an option in his regard, as she was recently introduced to the doctor by Jack (Peter Bergman). But if Y&R fans were to take betting odds from Billy (Jason Thompson), a link between Nate and Ana could prove fruitful.
Devon’s efforts in working through the stages of grief will be forwarded through a focus-shift to his younger sister. It will also be interesting to see if Ana becomes a mentor to Shauna (Camryn Hamm), who proved to a solid addition to the younger demo in the cast.
