The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers say that in Genoa City, Wisconsin when Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) had asked Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) to be her surrogate, she knew it would be difficult, but she has no idea that it would be this difficult. While with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), the two of them decide to meet with lawyer Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) at Society to discuss what steps need to be taken next before she makes perhaps one of the biggest decisions of her life to date. The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mariah Makes A Very Difficult Choice
According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith says that Brittany shares that the Chancellors will pay for all of the costs associated with the pregnancy, including maternity clothes. That’s when Mariah asks why the language is so specific, as she can’t help but wonder if she will get any wiggle room in this agreement.
Griffith puts it this way, “Brittany makes it very clear that despite Mariah’s friendship with Abby, there are details that need to be decided in advance. That way, Mariah is truly comfortable in her role as a surrogate during the entire pregnancy.”
With that said, Mariah is caught off-guard when Brittany advises her client to see a therapist before signing on the dotted line. When Mariah says that’s not necessary, it’s Tessa who chimes in and tells her to follow all of the advice that her lawyer is giving her. Tessa is obviously being very protective and wants what is best for Mariah.
Griffith adds, “Tessa wants to make sure that Mariah has a full understanding of the physical and emotional effects of carrying a child for Abby and Chance. Mariah realizes that Tessa is looking at the situation in a much different lens and sees another perspective.”

It's a wonderful and generous gesture but as much as I like Abby's character I don't think I could do what Mariah is doing for her. She's a bit of a spoiled, crybaby, princess and combined with controlling and meddling Victor for her father ummm no, could ruin a good friendship.

It is all a bit close for comfort Devon watching his son grow and playing uncle/daddy, Mariah doing 9 months with potential risks to be controlled by Abby! It's bound to come unstuck.
