Y&R spoilers for Monday, August 8 reveal that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) knows in his gut that Ashland Locke (formerly played by Robert Newman) didn’t die in a car crash. Despite everyone telling him that it seems like an open and shut case, Chance wants to find out the truth. Chance feels strongly that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) covered up Nick killing Ashland.

Nick didn’t mean to kill Ashland and it would probably be ruled as self-defense. However, Victor hauling off the body and staging the death as a crash complicates the case. Victor wasn’t protecting anyone by doing that. Victor might have just made things worse and Nick could pay the price.

Nick will have to lie or risk his father going to prison.

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, August 8 reveal that Abby’s loyalty will be tested. Abby is already questioning Chance about the case. It’s an ongoing investigation and Abby should know that Chance isn’t allowed to tell her anything. Then, Abby has a chat with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

It is teased that Nikki will pressure Abby to get Chance to stop the direction of this investigation. However, this will put Abby in conflict with Chance.

In Monday’s episode, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) tests the boundaries with her new job. It is teased that Chelsea will go too far and it puts Billy in a tough situation.

Over with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), she’s alarmed by Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) being influenced by Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose). Elena now realizes that Imani was the one who instigated the battle between Nate and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). However, Nate can’t seem to figure out that Imani is bad news.

Elena will also be concerned about all the time Nate and Imani are spending together. Elena is aware of Imani’s obsession with Nate. So, she could put her foot down. However, will Nate listen or will it have the opposite effect?
