Mia is very interested in connecting with Genoa City’s elite. Doing so will allow her mobile beauty business to expand exponentially and further whatever her longterm goals are. Mrs. Rosales’ motivation to aid Nikki is therefore expected.
For his part, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) will take Mia’s support of Nikki as another sign that Mrs. Newman is at least protecting her husband, if not doing more. Detective Rosales is convinced that Victor (Eric Braeden) killed J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and has gone missing to avoid being arrested as the lead suspect. These perceptions may shift when the ‘Moustache’ returns during Christmas week, but will remain strong until then.
Rey is wrong, but he doesn’t know that. Victor had nothing to do with Mr. Hellstrom’s accidental murder, but may be, or will become involved in the ongoing coverup.
As for Nikki, she’s now panicked for a very good reason. Someone laid J.T.’s jacket and pants in ‘Niktor’s’ bed.
Who could possibly have had access to the dead man’s clothing and demonstrated the ability to gain entry into the Ranch, while also knowing its physical layout?

While Mia’s efforts with her husband on Nikki’s behalf won’t go far, if anywhere, Gonzalez’ delightfully engaging character may still be valuable. The coverup crew wasn’t able to gain any information about Rey’s investigation at Mia’s house party. However, now that she has an opportunity to get in good with Nikki, Mia may be open to passing along whatever can be gleaned moving forward.
Rey feels he’s close to breaking this stretched case, which dates back to the time when Paul (Doug Davidson) was running the show at the GC Police Department in April. Time will tell if Mia openly, or inadvertently helps Nikki to dramatically upend matters as December spins.
