The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nikki Taunts Schemer – Tessa Implied Blackmailer

Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) push-back against whoever is trying to force a payment out of the coverup crew on ‘The Young and the Restless’ is strong. Meanwhile, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) made another request for money this week on Y&R.

Tessa told Lola (Sasha Calle) that she would be glad to work at the food truck. Miss Porter was very open about needing money.

Tessa tried to get her job back at the Hamilton-Winters Group upon returning from the mysterious Canadian trip. Devon (Bryton James) rightly and understandably told her no. He also rejected the request for a loan to pay off to people she claims helped her to get Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) across the border to safety.

It’s fully possible that Tessa is a poor soul who genuinely did help Crystal escape the human trafficker’s who were still trailing her from the forced lifestyle she was living. Maybe Fairbanks’ character accepted the barista job Sharon (Sharon Case) gave her and the nighttime assistant job Nick (Joshua Morrow) let her have at Dark Horse so she could earn enough money to pay off an actual debt. But these purposely oblique plot points are worth considering.

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has chosen to believe that Tessa agreed to pay the coyotes a large sum of money to get Crystal from the United States into Canada. That did seem somewhat implausible, as people of that ilk wouldn’t be open to an indefinite payment plan.

But there was an apparent attack at Crimson Lights where Tessa was seemingly attacked, as the marks on her apparently proved. Although, that scene may have been part of an overall ruse which now includes blackmailing the coverup crew.

It could be that Tessa doesn’t really know what happened with J.T. (Thad Luckinbill), but suspects Nikki, Sharon, Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) are hiding something. Using that knowledge a scheme was crafted and has been employed.
