The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Rosales Family Stirs Up New Drama In Genoa City

What’s happening on ‘The Young and the Restless’ reflects reality. New people come into viewer’s lives all the time. And so too have fresh faces arrived in Genoa City.

Arturo (Jason Canela) initially was a contractor who Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) struck a measured deal with, which led to a brief relationship. ‘Narturo’ was rather quickly supplanted by ‘Abturo’, as Abby (Melissa Ordway) proved to be the intended personal fit for this new character.

Within the last month Arturo actually became the first member of an entirely new family, which is a very significant development on daytime’s top-rated show. Yes, GC is expanding, as the Rosales’ have become prominent parts of life in this fictional Wisconsin setting.

Abby mistakenly thought that Lola (Sasha Calle) was Arturo’s alternate love interest, which made sense considering his prior dalliance with Nikki and overall appear with many females. While later introduced to the audience after his brother, Lola was revealed as Arturo’s sister.

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) did something that has yet to be revealed. Arturo, in particular, and Lola were put off by whatever happened in the past. Recent dialogue slightly implied that family matter may have been connected to their father and Rey’s job as a law enforcement officer.

Arturo was directly connected to the Newman family, through Nikki. Nick (Joshua Morrow) eventually took a liking to Canela’s character and has since made him the head of construction for Dark Horse. As noted, he’s also Abby’s newest love.

Rey was inserted directly into what is J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) death investigation. At the same time Vilasuso’s character is also supplanting Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). Meanwhile, detective Rosales has also has gotten very close to Sharon (Sharon Case). An easy projection would have both characters become a couple in the nearing future.

The same day Kyle (Michael Mealor) told Summer (as played by Hunter King during those episodes) that he was through with her, Lola’s food truck was first shown across the street from the Jabot building. By their third meeting, Lola wasted no time in suggesting to Kyle that he ask her out. And so, ‘Kola’ was born.

The combined introduction of these new characters has already set the show’s course in varied new directions. Now, as the fall plays out, hardcore viewers and newer fans will watch Arturo, Lola, and Rey become fully interwoven into Y&R.
