Vivica A. Fox Set To Exit The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless spoilers confirm that Vivica A. Fox, who plays Dr. Stephanie Simmons, is set to exit the CBS soap in the weeks ahead. CTS has all the details regarding the show’s latest casting shake-up below.

The Young and the Restless spoilers remind fans that Fox returned to the soap in April of this year after a 30-year hiatus. Now it seems her run with the daytime drama is wrapping up (for the time being).

Fox hopped on Instagram and made an announcement about this via her Stories. Showing off an array of flowers and the members of her ‘glam squad,’ Fox noted in a clip, “Hey there, darlings. It’s your girl, Vivica. And I’m gonna be going away for a couple of months to do my new film, Women Like Us.”

 She went on to say, “But today, when I came to work… my beautiful glam squad with their fabulous self—Jerry, Orlando, Justin—got me these beautiful flowers to send me off from Young and the Restless. This was supposed to be just eight shows, and it turned into six months.”

The actress added, “So I love you guys. I’m going to miss you. And all I can say to you, Y&R family out there, is I’ll see you soon.”

Not Goodbye

While Simmons will be off the air for a bit, the good news is that she’s not gone forever. It’s hard to say when her final air date will be, as nothing has been announced, but as The Young and the Restless films about several weeks ahead of broadcast, viewers can expect her departure to be in and around October.

With that said, things are heating up nicely between her and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), so Simmons’ brief break from Genoa City is bound to affect things in that romance.
