Who is Chance Chancellor On The Young and The Restless?

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that when fans took a chance on a new actor in a recurring role, they found much to like. In 2019, actor Donny Boaz was cast in the role of Phillip “Chance” Chancellor, IV and since then has won over fans with his sensitive but non-nonsense portrayal as the son of Nina Webster and Phillip Chancellor III.

From 2009 to 2011, actor John Driscoll portrayed the role but Boaz has now made the character his own, and fans can’t wait to see what happens to him next in Genoa City. Until then, we may have to wait a bit as the show is currently on hiatus due to the current coronavirus mandates.

The Young and the Restless spoilers – Chance Chancellor debuted in 1988

Today Chance is a low key and honorable character even though he is the son of the heir to Chancellor Industries. After his father’s apparent death, his mother married Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves) and Chance came to think of him as a father-figure.

It was a huge hurt when these two divorced but Ryan remained in the boy’s life up until his premature and tragic death.

Next, Nina and Phillip moved to Los Angeles.

In 2008, Nina returns to Genoa City to attend a funeral and tells everyone that Chance is now in the Iraq War.

The following year Nina comes back to town and later in the year Chance joins her. Before this he went by his given first name, Phillip, now he is using the nickname Chance. Chance is stunned to hear that his father is not dead and at the same time has an eye for Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson).
Chance clearly has a crush on Chloe, but it is not until he is stabbed at Crimson Lights and taken to the ER that Chloe admits her true feelings for him.

Later in life Chance again encounters violence when he is shot, and presumed dead. He is very much alive and must join the Witness Protection Program however.

Next, Chance leaves the program to be an organ donor and then resumes a friendship with Chloe. After he endures a failed love affair Chance decided to return to the military. Later, in 2011 he returns to town and it is learned that he is working to take down Colin Atkinson. He later reveals he has been offered a job at the Pentagon and leaves.

The next time we see him he is involved in a scheme in Las Vegas with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). He returned to Genoa City and took up with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) although that relationship appears over.
