Who Was Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) On The Young and The Restless?

CBS The Young and the Restless updates and spoilers reveal that this week Y&R fans were treated to the classic episode in which Drucilla Barber (Victoria Rowell) and Neil Winters (the late Kristoff St. John) meet-cute. It was a fateful event in more ways than one!

Not only did she gain a dance partner, but she also gained a relationship that would last off and on for years to come.

In the flashback classic, Dru is crushing on her sister Olivia’s (Tonya Lee Williams) boyfriend, Nate (Nathan Purdee). In order to get close to him, she asked him if he would teach her to slow dance. Her excuse was that she had a new boyfriend and wanted to look slick when they went out dancing.

Nate was gullible and said yes while Olivia saw right through her scheming sister. Dru was in a pickle because of her guilty conscience, but at the last minute who should wander by and catch her eye but handsome and eager exec Neil … and the rest is history.

The Young and the Restless spoilers – Drucilla Winters’ aunt Mamie Johnson worked for the Abbott family

In 1990 Dru was a troubled girl when she was sent to live with her aunt Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd), the housekeeper for John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).

Dru was drawn to Nathan because he taught her to read when she came to town. Later Nathan married, and had a child with Olivia.

In the beginning, Drucilla and Olivia had a tense relationship but later grew closer. Part of the reason for the estrangement was their mother’s favoritism of Olivia over Drucilla and her mother’s anger at her husband for getting her pregnant with Dru.

Dru and Neil Winter eventually married and afterward Dru became a model and found the courage to vent to her mother for wanting to abort her and mistreating her.

Unfortunately, Neil’s brother Malcolm Winters () raped Dru when she thought he was Neil due to the effect of cold medicine. When Dru gave birth to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) they lied about her paternity before coming clean.

The Young and the Restless Updates – Lily Ashby was a handful

Over time Lily and Neil grew estranged as she wanted a career and he wanted a stay at home wife. Eventually she and Lily left Genoa City and did not come back to live until 2002 when Lily was a bit wild.

Neil and Dru remarried in Japan in 2003 but they were too busy to notice Lily getting into trouble, notably with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).

After her return Dru helped troubled teen Devon Hamilton 9Bryton James), and she and Neil became his foster parents.

Meanwhile, Lily ran off and married Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).

The Young and the Restless spoilers – Dru Winters’ kids grew up and she tragically died young

Over the years Lily and Devon, who were raised as siblings, grew up and settled down. Unfortunately, Dru did not live long enough to see them as mature adults as she and her arch-enemy Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) struggled one day over a cell phone which caused Dru to fall off a cliff. Her body was never recovered, and she is presumed dead.
