This was the case when we saw Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) sitting on a couch in Kansas with his kids, Colonel Douglas Austin (Michael Evans) and Hope (Signy Coleman). The last two characters have not been on the canvas in years, and Nicolas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) looked very different than they do today!
Perhaps most puzzling to newer fans is what Victor was doing there, and why he let his family believe that he was dead, something he tried to explain to his kids.

Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) Had A Little Something To Do With Victor’s Disappearance
The back story to Victor’s disappearance and reappearance in Kansas is a sad one. It was the result of his tragic contribution to the death of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Jack Abbott’s unborn child.
Unable to face what he’d done, he left town and ended up in of all places, a farm in Kansas. There he met Hope who ran the farm. She gave him peace and he decided to stay. Eventually, he realized that he had to resurface and his return from the dead dropped a huge bombshell back in Genoa City!
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman And Adam Newman Have Always Had A Tenuous Relationship
Hope and Victor had a son, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) who is currently wreaking havoc in Genoa City and on his dad. Victor did not raise Kansas-born Adam and he resents this. Ironically, Victor protected Adam from a murder rap, a fact that has just come to light.
