The Young and the Restless (Y&R) teased that a new and improved Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) returns to Genoa City. She finally popped back up and stuck around this time around. Fans wonder if she will actually change her ways.
The Young And The Restless: Phyllis Summer Returns
On the Monday, July 10th episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis Summer returned to Genoa City. She resorted back to her wig collection. When Phyllis sat alone on the bench in the park, she contemplated returning to town.
She grappled with the thoughts in her head. In one of her daydreams, she imagined Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) finding her out and threatening to turn her into the police. Some fans joked that Phyllis should deal with these thoughts in a mental institution rather than alone in the park. This theory was brought up in the Soap Central forums.
Some fear that Phyllis won’t be able to function mentally after faking her death. The ramifications could cause her emotional distress. Fans took to the thread to share their thoughts. Others noted Phyllis’ demeanor during that particular scene.
“What is with the weird childishness and inappropriate grinning when she should be really worried about her legal issues? Is she trying to be quirky or just being so arrogant that she doesn’t think she’s accountable for her actions?” one fan noted.
“It would be awesome writing it turned out Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) had her committed after they confronted her in the hotel room and all these scenes of her on the run are a hallucination,” another added.
Y&R: Will Phyllis Change Her Ways?
Some have to wonder if Phyllis will even change her ways. She mentioned that she’s a new and improved Phyllis—one who’s held accountable for her actions. Phyllis is tired of being on the run and wants to live her life, even if it’s about to change.
However, some fans don’t think it’s possible. They think she will go back to her old ways in the next episode. Others fear that she’s on the brink of losing her mind. Since she’s done so much damage, it could be hard for her to win back the respect of her family and friends.
Others argued that no one has been looking out for her, even her own kids. What are your thoughts? Do you think Phyllis has changed? Sound off below in the comment section.
