Young and the Restless News – Kristoff St. John Found Dead
Friends came to check on Kristoff on Sunday and found him unconscious in his San Fernando Valley home on February 3. They called paramedics and police and the actor was pronounced dead on the scene. Reports say there was no foul play, but some sources say alcohol played a role in his demise.
Earlier in January, Kristoff was reported to have visited UCLA Medical Center for his depression, which was partly linked to his son’s death in 2014. He was just released from the hospital a few days ago.
Co-stars mourn Kristoff’s death
Kristoff St. John played an important role in removing the stereotypical portrayal of black men on soaps. He caught the attention of William J. Bell when he played Alex on NBC’s “Generations.” Bell then created the character of Neil in 1991 and cast St. John.
Bryton James (Devon) and Christel Khalil (Lily) are among the stars who were able to work with St. John for a long time. As Kristoff’s on-screen family, James and Khalil expressed their feelings of losing St. John.
“As one of the lucky people to have experienced Kristoff’s spirit, love, and talent first-hand, I can only say thank you forever for loving me, guiding me, protecting me, and for teaching me every day how to choose to find the levity in life no matter what. I will never stop making you proud. I love you. My man…,” James wrote on Instagram.

Young and the Restless Cast Mourns Kristoff St. John
Lily also wrote a heartfelt message for St. John, “I don’t know if I can ever fully express how my heart feels. I’m so heartbroken. I’m mad, sad, confused… but I understand. I’m thankful you’re not in pain anymore, such a deep pain that no one could understand. No parent should have to bury their child. I’m sorry you had to. I’m sorry you’ve been hurting so much.”
She went to reminisce how St. John played a part in her casting as Lily and how he is one of a kind. “Your goofiness, openness, and genuine love and care you showed for other people was never overlooked. You treated me like your real daughter over the past 17 years. Between our deep conversations about religion to your goofy dad jokes, you’ve always had a special place in my heart. A place where a father should have been… I’m grateful I got to know you and share some of my most important moments of life with you. You will never be forgotten. I love you. I love you…”
