Soap veteran Eileen Davidson, who’s known for her roles on “The Young and the Restless” and “Days of Our Lives,” is shooting a new Christmas movie. She shared some behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram account and captioned “Last scene of the first day. #therewillalwaysbechristmas.”

The actress’ stepson, Duke Van Patten, will also appear in the film. Other cast members include Nancy Valen as Dr. Knowles and Paul Fox as Mr. Phillips. Trevor Stines is also part of the cast and plays the role of Lucas while Tim Abell takes on the role of Nick. Danielle Raine joins the film as Mrs. Masterson while Anzu Lawson plays Iris.

In the film, which is expected to premiere in 2020, the actress plays the role of Alana D’Angelo. Her character is the dean of a well-known high school in a small town. She works with her teenage daughter Samantha (Kennedy Tucker) in planning a holiday concert to save the school. The pair will receive help from Army veteran Johnny (Michael Paré). However, her daughter gets into a car accident. Alana leans to Johnny for support and the latter’s son makes an important decision that will bring their families closer than ever.

Davidson debuted the role of Ashley Abbott on “The Young and the Restless in 1982. Out of 100 candidates, she was the one who got the part. Before long, her character became an integral part of the sudser. She left the show back in 1988 and a look-alike actress, Brenda Epperson Dounami, was hired to take her place.
She also appeared in movies like “The House on Sorority Row” and Easy Wheels. She tried her luck in primetime television on the show called “Broken Badges” but unfortunately, it was canceled. She returned to daytime and took over the role of Kelly Capwell on “Santa Barbara.”
She also appeared on “Days of Our Lives” as Kristen Blake. She had four other roles on the sudser namely, Susan Banks, Sister Mary Moira, Penelope Kent, Thomas Banks. Her impeccable performance earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1998.
She reprised her role as Ashley on “The Young and the Restless in 1999 and earned another Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. However, she was fired from the show due to the lack of storyline. She eventually signed a three-year contract with “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Y&R’s Ashley upon the request of executive producer Bradley Bell.
