Young And The Restless News: Joshua Morrow Has Something To Celebrate!

Young And The Restless Nick Newman - Joshua MorrowJoshua Morrow has reached an important milestone in his career. This year, the actor is celebrating his 25th anniversary playing the role of Nick Newman in “The Young and the Restless.”

Morrow said jokingly, “It’s the 25-year con job!” he laughed to Soaps In Depth, flashing his famous dimples. “I’ve figured out how to fool them for a quarter of a century!” This is indeed a great achievement as it is a testament to his skills, talent, and performance in the sudser.

Looking back on his journey as Nick, he recalled how easy it was for him to connect with Camryn Grimes the time she played the role of Cassie. He described her as “an absolute ray of sunshine”, “an amazing, extraordinarily caring and talented young lady. She is a grown woman now, but in my eyes, she will always be my freckle-faced angel!” He remembers the time Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case) walked down the aisle for the first time. Morrow said it was Melody Thomas Scott, who played Nikki, had the best performance. In that episode, he said Scott was “scene stealer of all scene stealers.”

Morrow also admitted that he had no idea he’d be a part of the Newman family. Before he received the call to read for the part, Morrow was heartbroken as he just missed out on landing a gig on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” He is grateful for getting the part and if he didn’t, he said he’d surely be jealous of the guy who would portray the character.

During his entire stint on the show, Morrow has been part of six major storylines. He was imprisoned for being wrongly accused of killing Matt Clark (Eddie Cibrian). Fortunately, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) managed to find evidence that his son wasn’t guilty. Then, Nick and Sharon out that they were expecting a child. Noah arrived prematurely after Sharon’s accident and the couple did a vigil by the baby’s incubator. They thought he won’t make it but a miracle happened, and he lived.

Morrow was also a part of the storyline involving Cassie’s accident that put her life in danger. Morrow and Case gave an impeccable performance as their daughter lay dying in the hospital bed. Cassie’s death caused an irreparable dent in his marriage with Sharon. They eventually divorced and he moved on with Phyllis. He put up a business named Dark Horse but sold it later on to his half brother Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
