In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Moore talked about his comeback on “The Young and the Restless.” He also shared memories of his friendship with St. John, and why he thanked him for the life he has now.
Moore, who currently plays Hondo Harrelson on TV series “S.W.A.T.,” shared that he was “very grateful to the opportunity” to participate in Y&R’s special episodes to memorialize St. John and his character.

“Also, I wanted the fans to know, I want the world to know, how much this man meant to me because I wouldn’t have this life if it wasn’t for Kristoff. And that’s not just being poetic. It’s true.”
Moore added that it was really nice that he was able to get back to where he started in show business, but it was sad that it was under such tragic circumstances.
“But what was so beautiful about that day is we all honored each other, we all hugged, but we all knew why we were there,” he said.
Moore feels he owed St. John a lot because he was instrumental in Moore landing the role of Malcolm Winters. He shared that he found out that when St. John was asked who he wanted to play his brother, Kristoff chose him.
Young And The Restless News – Moore Credits St. John With His Success
“I want the scared kid in the baseball hat and the sunglasses to play my brother because he doesn’t quite know what he’s doing, but he’s got good instincts and I know he can do it,” St. John told Executive Producer Bill Bell.
He believed that if not for that moment, he would not be where he is right now in his career in the entertainment industry. Kristoff was his mentor and Moore said that they had a relationship like brothers.
“He was my brother. I miss him. And everything I do now as an actor…. You know, I had to earn my way and find my career. But again, I don’t even have this opportunity without Kristoff St. John.”
