Lily (Christel Khalil) is telling Cane (Daniel Goddard) that they’re over on ‘Young and the Restless’. There’s still an opportunity for ‘Lane’ to be restored, but will that happen?
Who is Lily to mandate this decision? As Cane said, being in prison hasn’t allowed her to think clearly. The rejection of her husband’s offer to jointly pursue some type of resolution appears to confirm his speculation.
And what about the kids? Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) lives are deeply dependent upon both of their parents. Cold notions about them reaching so-called adulthood at 18 isn’t rational. No, they will remain children for a while, including the time when they are in college and need Lily and Cane’s paired guidance.
Of course, it was wrong for Cane to have kissed Vickie (Amelia Heinle) on more than one occasion. But the viewers understand that he has impulse problems, which are not, as Lily is choosing to believe, attempts to hurt his wife.
Moving away from Genoa City would be selfish if that’s what Lily intends to do after her early release from prison. But let’s also consider where she’s coming from.
With full compassion for Mrs. Ashby, it’s fair to argue that she was wrongly put in prison by a judge who could have allowed her to perform extensive community service while serving probation. Jailing her for the accidental deaths of Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and ‘Hevon’s’ unborn child was nothing more than a strongly subjective legal decision that’s continued to produce negative consequences. That being Lily’s current decision to end her marriage.
Michael, trying to get Cane to sign the divorce papers: “Cane, sometimes it’s easier to move forward than it is to look back.”

Episodes that will air toward the end of April will honor Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) life. During that time familiar faces will reappear, including Lily’s biological father, Malcolm (Shemar Moore). He can serve as a driving force to urge healing. So too can Jill (Jess Walton), who will also be returning.
