Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) believed that he and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) would reunite on ‘The Young and the Restless’. And now they have.
Yes, ‘Chadam’s’ revival has been desired for a while. While telegraphed for months, this couple’s comeback did feel a bit pushed. Seasoned audience members know that Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, including the calendar’s turn and the start of a new decade, enabled Adam and Chelsea’s reunion to happen now, rather than by next spring or summer.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chadam Push Allows New Adventures
Adam remained single since he returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, and then regained his memory. He did pursue a reunion with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), but that was only after Chelsea turned down his initial attempts to reconcile.
Chelsea was married to Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) upon returning to GC last year. His untimely passing led to a ‘Chick’ reunion.
‘Chadam’ was able to reach an accord after Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) recognized and accepted where Chelsea’s heart was and that his brother actually does love Egan’s character. The reunion Adam and Chelsea subsequently had was real and heartfelt.
Y&R Spoilers – Connor Newman’s Life Matters Most
Chelsea has fallen back in love with Adam for a number of reasons. Chief among them is how she’s seen him truly surrender himself for their son’s best interests.
Yes, Adam is the man that she once knew. He’s been through a lot since the cabin blast in September 2016, enduring an interminable period where he didn’t know who he was. But that part of Adam’s backstory has passed and with it Chelsea’s fear of his dark side.
Connor’s well-being is paramount. His parents are not only committed to his mental health but also, now, to the health of their reviving relationship.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chadam Family Expansion Intriguing
Connor is their second child, with Riley Newman (Malachi Barton) dying before birth. Chelsea and Adam haven’t been able to be together with their son as they would have liked to date. So the arrival of a new child would give them another chance at creating an ideal family life.
Expanding this particular group would allow for many new adventures to be written into the script. Connor’s reaction to his new sibling(s), the competitive interaction with Adam’s other family members, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) take, and more could all be very intriguing.
Creating a different type of ‘Chadam’ dynamic could also allow storylines that mix upbeat topics with needed dramatics, rather than a returned focus on the darkness within Adam or conflict between him and nearly everyone in GC. As importantly, Egan would have a chance to demonstrate her considerable acting chops in new ways.
