Young and the Restless Spoilers: Adam Newman Could Care Less About Phyllis – Kevin Getting Played?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) has sometimes been brilliant and at others, revealed himself as little more than a chipmunk. The latter proved true when he miscalculated Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) interest in Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni, working in her final scenes).

Tognoni’s departure will extend for a bit, as the cast revert back to Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) has now been revealed within the plot. Tognoni, ever the great actor, who was also beloved by her cast members, leaves Y&R nearing what would have been five years come this fall.

Rikaart’s return to the cast, along with Stafford’s, helps rewind the show back a number of years. Fans last saw Kevin in 2018, when he returned to town with his daughter Bella Mitchell (Cali May Kinder). Back then Khloe was living in Oregon, having left Wisconsin in a hurry after Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) needed to fake her death in order to avoid arrest and certain imprisonment.

Stafford, the original, iconic Phyllis, is completing her run on General Hospital (as Nina Cassadine). So, she’ll be seen as Phyllis shortly. Hendrickson just left GH, where she played Margaux Dawson. Rikaart departed Days of our Lives, where he played Leo Stark.

As viewers learned, Adam told Kevin that he knows Chloe shot him. It also appears as though Grossman’s reverse SORAS’d character had Chloe kidnapped, though he denied having done that when Kevin pressed him on the point.

Making physical contact with Adam’s hand evidenced the chipmunk side of Kevin’s personality. He’s taking no prisoners, except for Phyllis, of course, because the woman he loves was taken without warning, leaving Bella without her mother.

The chipmunk reference dates back to the days when Kevin and then Kevin and Chloe ran wild in Genoa City. Crime sprees revealing the unbalanced sides of their personalities.

Khloe upended their lives in order to avoid the consequences of Chloe having tried to blow up Adam (as then played by Justin Hartley) in September 2016. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) allowed them to do that because he felt compassion for Bella, which was tied to his own feelings in having lost Adam, and his grandson, Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois), being without his father.

Adam could care less about Phyllis being held hostage by Kevin. She’s no bargaining chip that will be exchanged in return for Chloe, right? Buzz regarding both women meeting will reveal whatever feelings Adam has, or if his goons allowed the two-time attempted murderer to escape.
