Young and the Restless Spoilers: Adam’s Shocking Blackmail Scheme – Victor Newman Finally Defeated

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) believes he’s outmaneuvered his father on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) efforts appear to have produced enough evidence to prove that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was responsible for her father’s death.

Using that information, or withholding it, was considered in the time leading to Adam’s meeting with his dad at Society. But their unfriendly luncheon confirmed the worst. Adam is attempting to blackmail Victor, with the trade being silent about the decades-old, apparent crime in return for heading the family’s business.

Victor is admitting, or at least fronting defeat, as viewers will see. But longtime Y&R fans know that the ‘Moustache’ never allows himself to stay down, often playing possum while waiting to strike back against an enemy.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Is Like His Father

It’s very obvious that Adam and Victor are similar. But Braeden’s iconic character has it all over his namesake (Victor Adam Newman, Junior) when it comes to wisdom and the long view.

The childish response Adam had to not getting the temporary top spot at Newman Enterprises sparked his latest quest for revenge. It doesn’t matter how many times Victor tells Adam that he didn’t abandon him and his mother, Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman). His second-born son refuses to accept the truth.

Adam concocted his own backstory through the years, coming to believe in a false hardship about his time in Kansas as justification for endless grievance pursuits against Victor. The latest act is simply another chapter in a repetitive loop.

Y&R Spoilers – A.J. Montalvo’s Demise Measured Against Vegas

Y&R fans can project the connection before it’s been made. Adam’s conversation with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) in Las Vegas, Nevada, which Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) recorded and then used to seize control of the Grand Phoenix Hotel, revealed that Grossman’s character killed a man, though that was said to be in self-defense.

Adam has gone to great lengths to keep his Vegas actions concealed. He’s openly stated that he would go to prison if what happened is ever revealed.

If Victor is responsible for A.J. Montalvo’s (a part that’s not yet known to be cast) death, then he was likely engaged in a similar act of self-defense, or the defense of another person, possibly Hope, or even Adam, who would have been a child at that time. So, Victor would surely employ a neutralization strategy if he’s aware, or will come to know, what Adam did in Vegas.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Is Invincible

Victor hasn’t always outpaced every adversary. Beyond Adam’s recent antics, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) walked around as J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill), as Phyllis termed it, which damaged his father’s health and reputation. There have been times where Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), or others temporarily got the best of Victor.

However, as Y&R’s enduring, lead male character, Victor has never been in a bad position for long. Adam’s arrogance blinds him to history and therefore makes him vulnerable for inevitable reprisal and probable defeat.
