A memorable scene, created with classic trick photography, had Billy and anti-Billy attempting to strangle each other. Then, good Billy literally knocked bad Billy into pieces, with the brilliant visual dissolve signaling the end of this part of the arc.

The challenge Billy faces is forging ahead. He, like Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson), became obsessed with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) following Delia Abbott’s (as then played by Sophie Pollono) tragic death in October 2013.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott’s Comeback Potential Strong

The incredible nature of Adam’s latest return from the dead triggered Billy in a manner Thompson’s character never expected, establishing his descent into madness.

Billy needed Vickie Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) presence. It was her specific arrival at the Chancellor boat house that also led to his wild, but productive daydream.

After visiting with Billy, Vickie departed, locking him in as she left. Billy’s near instant trip into dreamland led to a series of visions, including one with an older vision of his deceased daughter that had never been seen before, and others with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton), Adam, and then Billy’s alternate version of himself.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Needs To Renew His Focus On His Work

It became painfully obvious that Billy was living under the misconception that no one believed in him. But even in his panicked state he didn’t think that of Victoria. Her arrival help to wake Billy, with him then announcing he was ready for a comeback.

Personally, Billy has all he needs with Vickie and the kids serving as his daily touchstones. Jill is always a phone call away and comes back to town when needed. Billy has repaired his relationship with Jack, who has his back. And, Chloe is a good friend and confidant.

As for Jabot, Billy is seen as one of the keys to the family company’s current success. He needs to renew his focus on work in order to maintain balance as well.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kudos To Jason Thompson’s Performance

Thompson assumed the role of Billy in early 2016. The daytime veteran’s acting chops have allowed a deeply vulnerable edition of the character to be gifted to the audience.

Within the last calendar year, Billy became Victoria’s rock. Switching roles within their family, he served as the stable parental figure. That was deeply valued by Vickie, due to the strife she endured during the J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) revival era.

Billy’s summer devolution nearly took him down. But he broke through and plans to stay strong for Johnny Abbott (Ryan and Holden Hare), Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) and Vickie. Billy needs the help of loved ones and friends, but is ready to live well again.
