Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) pushed Adam out of the way. Yes, one of Y&R’s most notorious arcs was being revisited, with an epic twist.
Savvy soap fans knew that they were being driven back to the past as all of the major players in the Delia Dies storyline agreed to return. Recasting Grossman as Adam, along with Hendrickson’s return to the show as Chloe, allowed those principals to join Thompson in what has been bubbling late this summer. The presence of also-returned cast members, Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) and Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Boudreau) enhance atmospherics within this particular part of the tale.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott And Chloe Mitchell Triggered
Billy was triggered by Adam’s return from the dead and to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Chloe was as well, which led to her missed shot at the tack house. Yes, Adam was impacted, but he survived, which wasn’t her intent.
Employing an eerie premise, Y&R later began showing Billy as hearing Delia’s voice. Viewers didn’t initially know if an otherworldly storyline was unfolding, if someone was trying to spook him, or if his mind was breaking. The final option was revealed as real this week.
Thompson’s turn into a vigilante is terrific, as the burn has been slow and tortuous. Close-up shots of Billy’s face, the inclusion of odd ticks, like gum-chewing, combined with his awakening at unusual locations are compelling.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman In Place Of Delia Abbott
Billy’s tell to Chloe at the Chancellor mansion establishes the crescendo. He advises Delia’s other surviving parent that he now knows how to handle Adam. She’s frightened for him, based on her own labored experience.
Then, Adam received the text from an unknown source, strikingly summoning him to the sight of his deepest horror. Car lights were seen and Adam took Delia’s October 2013 position, until Chloe played the ironic hero. This setup was terrific, as it allowed the tortured trio, Billy, Chloe, and Adam, to wring the past out of them. Current consequences are applied, but nothing will be the same moving forward.
Y&R’s challenge in tapping this well-known part of its history lies in staying true to all that happened, while also presenting fresh outlets to its characters and the observing audience. The task is tall, but is off to an engaging start.

Yes I was very surprised coloe pulled Adam out of the way from Boys car! I figured she would push Adam in front of car for killing Delia! I guess she’s thinking of Bella and Kevin now! She doesn’t want Billy the father of Delia going to prision! Kathy
Yes I was surprised Chloe pushed Adam out of the way and when she was on front
of Killer Billy’s vehicle I thought for sure he hit her and he didn’t, thank god.
Maybe she wants to change now and be a better person who doesn’t want to land
in jail for 3 murder attempts on Adam.
No, not surprised at all. Chloe knows what it is like to lose control to the point Billy is/has, and has learnt how much you can lose, in the blink of an eye, living like that. She sees the same in Billy and is concerned that he is so caught up in it that he fails to see he has children and a family that need/want him. Chloe would have done more to try and save Billy from making an ultimate mistake. More or less, she saved Billy…or tried to. But….Chloe also knows how much pain Chelsea and Connor also suffered due to her prior lost control and doesn’t want Connor to have to go through it all over again.
I knew Chloe would push Adam out of the way if it wasn’t Chloe it would b Kevin,If Billy succeeded t running over Adam Chloe would have got the blame so Chloe knows what it’s like to loose ur mind over a death of a child so she is going to try to help Billy as much as she can after all Billy is Delia’s father
