Young And The Restless Spoilers: Camryn Grimes On The Long-Lasting Friendships She’s Made As Cassie Newman/Meriah Copeland

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers suggest that despite being only 34 years of age, actress Camryn Grimes has truly created a soap opera legacy in the land of Genoa City.

She entered the daytime drama in 1997 at the age of seven, delighting fans as the sweet, sassy, and smart Cassie Newman. Sadly, Cassie passed away in 2005; however, Camryn continued to grace the canvas playing the ghost of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) daughter; a role she reprised for a dream episode, just last month.

Still, Camryn returned to the show full-time in 2014, playing Cassie’s long-lost twin, Mariah Copeland. Camryn has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy award six times during her time on the Y&R, and snagged the statue twice, once for her portrayal of Cassie in 2000, and once in 2018 for her portrayal of Mariah.

Camryn recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about the bonds she’s made on the show, over the years. After all, she’s spent more than two decades with the soap between both characters.

Grimes reveals that during her first run, when she was a little girl playing Cassie, she got rather close to Sharon, Joshua, and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman). Coming back and working as an adult on the show brought their relationships to a different level.

Since her return in 2014, she’s become very good friends with Bryton James (Devon Hamilton-Winters), as well as Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson), and Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman).

Y&R Spoilers – Camryn Grimes On Having Her Real-Life Bestie On The Soap Set

Forging friendships is one thing; however, having your real-life bestie working on the show is like a dream come true. Grimes tells SOD that she’s thrilled her BFF, actress Hayley Erin (Claire Grace) is back on the Y&R. She recalls when Hayley told her about the “test” she scheduled for the show.

Erin was living in Ireland at the time, and after the big “test” news, Hayley booked the job two weeks later! Two weeks after that, Grimes notes to SOD that it was “surreal” hanging out by a pool with Erin and her babies.
